To be forgiven and cleansed by the blood of Jesus
Forgive me, Lord, for anything that I might have done against you through my thoughts, through my ears (things that I might have listened to) and sight (things that I might have seen), and through my actions, or inactions.
Isaiah 55:7 “Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.”
Forgive me for saddening the Holy Spirit and do not take your Spirit from me.
Psalm 51:11 “Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.”
Ephesians 4:30 “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”
I repent for my actions, thoughts, and other attitudes done willfully or unwilfully through ignorance. Forgive me and remember my sins no more.
Isaiah 43:25 ‘I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.’
According to Psalm 51:10, create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit in me.
Open my eyes, O Lord, to the things, thoughts, and behaviors that do not honor and glory you, and give me the grace to change my ways.
Wash me (body, soul, and spirit) in the precious blood of your son Jesus and justify me by his blood.
Romans 5:9 “Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!”
Let your fire burn in my soul and refine me in a vessel that brings you glory.
Expressing gratitude to the Lord for his forgiveness
Thank you for sending Jesus to die for my sins and iniquities and resurrect on the third day so that in him I might have life and have it in abundance.
Thank you for justifying me by the precious blood of Jesus
Thank you for restoring in me things that the enemy had stolen because of my sin
Thank you for forgiving my sins and healing all my diseases, per Psalm 103: 3
Thank you for freeing me, through the blood of Jesus, from the law of sin and death and bringing me under the law of the Spirit who gives life.
Romans 8:2 “’[T]hrough Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”
Thank you for restoring me in your presence because of your compassion.
Isaiah 54:8 ‘ . . . In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,’ says the Lord your Redeemer.
Keeping up with the fruits of repentance
Lord, preserve me from temptation and give me the grace to flee from sin and not give in to it.
Give me the grace to crucify the flesh, to be led by your spirit and not by my flesh, for it is my desire to live a life that pleases and honors you.
Galatians 5:24 "Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires."
Lord, let my heart hate what you hate and love what you love.
Give me the grace to stay grounded in your Word, and to live a life that glorifies you and pleases you always.
Give me to grace to be attentive to the leading of the Spirit and to not sadden him.
Give me the grace to manifest the fruits of the Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law."
